Chicago Named 2017 Council of the Year


October 25, 2017 National Minority Supplier Development Council recognizes the ChicagoMSDC as Council of the Year at the 45th annual national conference in Detroit. #nmsdc45

At the annual Conference and Business Opportunity Exchange, held Oct. 22-25 in Detroit, the National Minority Supplier Development Council named the ChicagoMSDC the 2017 Council of the Year award. The award recognizes an NMSDC affiliate council with high ratings, exemplary programs, and significant contributions that establish it as a successful model of the network.

ChicagoMSDC was honored during the gala awards dinner on October 25, which also recognized member corporations and Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) for their contributions to NMSDC’s goals in advancing business opportunities for minorities. President/CEO Shelia Morgan, Executive Vice President Phillip Barreda and Board Chair Ruby McCleary accepted the award on behalf of the Chicago Council.

Morgan says, “The Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council is honored to receive this award. It is truly a cooperative effort between our board of directors, staff, corporate members, MBEs and the Chicago MBDA Centers.”
