2015 We are changed, but we are strong

Dev Sanyal

As you know well, ChicagoMSDC and the NMSDC network was “under construction” as it implemented the NMSDC strategic plan. I am pleased to say through the rigor ChicagoMSDC has prevailed; we are changed, but we are strong.

Your Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council (ChicagoMSDC) has been working diligently on behalf of its many stakeholders and I want to personally thank YOU, the board of directors and staff for your continued support. As you know well, ChicagoMSDC and the NMSDC network was “under construction” as it implemented the NMSDC strategic plan. I am pleased to say through the rigor ChicagoMSDC has prevailed; we are changed, but we are strong.

The council stands on four pillars: “Certify, Develop, Connect and Advocate.” We have implemented targeted programs, policies and procedures to embrace, enhance and deliver a plethora of services to you, our corporate members, and certified MBEs, our valued constituents and we are making a difference!

The work of the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council and the entire NMSDC Network is extremely important to us all. The economic impact certified minority businesses have throughout this country and throughout the world is significant and so we must continue our vigilance and we must work steadfastly on the minority business inclusion paradigm.

Our “eco-system”, buyers and sellers, majority corporations and certified minority businesses, men and women, large and small, public and private sector must be worked from “top down and bottom up” if we are to continue to make progress. This is not optional. Instead, it’s a business imperative!

Still there is more work to be done. I am mindful, we must all participate, each one of us and each group is an important part of this eco-system. Working together and holding each party accountable is the key to sustainability.

At the close of 2014 I encouraged each of you to include ChicagoMSDC in your new year’s resolutions. I asked each of you to make a concerted effort to "double your council participation in the 2015!” Have you joined a ChicagoMSDC committee, become acquainted with the board of directors, MBEIC or ChicagoMSDC staff? Have you become a client of the MBDA Business Center, aligned with someone within your industry, allowed the council to help tell your story or more importantly engaged ChicagoMSDC to assist you with new avenues to succeed? It's not too late to engage your council. We need and want your involvement. Now is the time and the time is now! Sign up and join us on the road to success and help us to continue to positively impact the “WORLD of BUSINESS DIVERSITY!” Supplier Diversity needs YOU!

 Warm regards,
